Coastal Crew Spotlight: Mikaela Burling

1. When and Why did you first start coming to Coastal Strength & Fitness?
I started at coastal on Jan 9, 2015. I had reached the largest I had ever been, and I was tired of feeling depressed and out of shape. My main goal was to feel confident in my clothes again, and get back to being athletic.
2. What fitness activities/sports were you doing before you joined Coastal?
I was coaching competitive cheerleading, but was not able to participate like I should as a coach in conditioning and building exercises. Now I am able to run, lift, and condition with them.
3. What results have you seen since you joined Coastal Strength & Fitness?
In the year I've been at coastal, I lost a total of 55 pounds, and dropped 4-5 pant sizes! I am the smallest size I have ever been since middle school, and I am in the best shape of my life by far!
4. What do you like most about Coastal Strength & Fitness?
I love the people. When you go to a gym it is usually intimidating, and I can still remember my first week and all of the people encouraging me who didn't even know me. That made me fall in love with coastal. It keeps you accountable to keep coming back, see "your people" daily and get that workout in together!
5. What is your favorite Coastal training day of the week and why?
I would say my favorite day is probably Friday's because it's always a really great total body workout, and ladders are not on Fridays anymore! Second favorite is arm day because I love handstands and push-ups now!

Supersonic speed so I can get places quickly, I'm too impatient!
