Member Spotlight: Natalie Blais

MEET NATALIE:
1. When and Why did you first start coming to Coastal Strength & Fitness?
I started at Coastal Strength & Fitness in June 2016. I had joined a franchise gym about 8 months prior with another person. The other person stopped going with me and I was getting bored with the machines and by myself. I had to change up my work out routine or I was going to quit working out all together.
2. What fitness activities/sports were you doing before you joined Coastal?
In high school, I played every sport except basketball (being 5” tall and basketball just isn’t a good fit ) About 8 months prior to starting at Coastal, I was going to a franchise “non-judgemental” gym 5 days a week. I am not sure if it was for the work out or the tootsie rolls, though.
3. What results have you seen since you joined Coastal Strength & Fitness?
Since coming to Coastal, I have lost an additional 20 lbs for a total weight loss of 50 lbs, but it has not been about the losses for me but what I have gained. I have gained the confidence to be able to participate in a 5K Obstacle Terrain Race, I have learned to make lifestyle changes so this isn’t a diet but a way of life, I am healthy and most importantly I am happy.
4. What do you like most about Coastal Strength & Fitness?
This is a hard one because there are so many things I love about Coastal that I am going to have to list a few. I love the trainers and the members and the intimate atmosphere- we are all one big FAMILY. I have developed some life long friendships here at Coastal. The other thing that I love about Coastal Fitness is your approach. You make this a lifestyle change, one change at a time and the safety and well- being of your members is ALWAYS first. Other gyms who want to make a name for themselves push fad unrealistic diets and push their members to do crazy workouts at any costs, even an injury of members just to show that they get results so they can push more memberships- NEVER here at Coastal.
5. What is your favorite Coastal training day of the week and why?
Favorite Coastal training day of the week is Mondays. Great way to start the week off and I love working out my legs especially when it is Deadlifts. I love being able to beat my PR each time we start a new 6 week program. I will say though that I am looking forward to Thursdays because Ben and I are working on a new program with Kettlebells and it’s got me pretty excited!!!

1. What is your Spirit animal?
Lion(ess)-Fierce and has the courage to speak what is in one’s heart and follow one’s heart but has the power of the feminine to work together rather than always compete
2. If you were a Superhero, what would your super power be?
Power to Heal
3. What is your favorite cheat meal?
Wine- but I was told wine is not a meal so a charcuterie tray- but with wine
