1. When and Why did you first start coming to Coastal Strength & Fitness?
I joined Coastal in the fall of 2016. I wanted to try something different and become stronger.
2. What fitness activities/sports were you doing before you joined Coastal?
I was huge into yoga at the time and really loved attending classes but was not gaining strength from my practice. It really hit me when I attended a headstand and handstand work shop. I could not get into a headstand without someone lifting my feet for me. After that, I made it a goal to strengthen my core..
3. What results have you seen since you joined Coastal Strength & Fitness?
Well, there’s the superficial results where I’ve lost twenty pounds but there have been more meaningful results along the way. For the first time, I’ve learned to totally accept my body and that came BEFORE the weight loss. In fact, I attribute that acceptance to my success in the gym. I learned to love my body for the strength it was capable of and I switched my mindset from focusing on the numbers on the scale to focusing on my deadlift and bench press numbers. Then, through Coastal’s nutrition coaching, I learned how to nourish my body by eating correctly and that’s when I really saw results.
4. What do you like most about Coastal Strength & Fitness?
There are so many things to love! Coastal is fun and the workouts are customized to everyone’s skill level. I love that Coastal has knowledgeable coaches that can answer my nutrition questions, help me work around an injury, give me advice on how to accomplish my strength goals and break through any barriers that I may be facing. Most of all, I love the bonds that I’ve formed with my other “Coasties.” We truly are a family. Everyone is welcomed with open arms and we love new members.
5. What is your favorite Coastal training day of the week and why?
That’s a hard question. If you had asked me a year ago, I would have said Deadlift Day, hands down. Recently, I’ve been getting more into Arm Day and the incline bench press. But honestly, I enjoy every day at Coastal. My least favorite thing is the airbike. If the airbikes broke all at once and were never replaced, I wouldn’t be mad.

1. What is your Spirit animal?
I wasn’t sure so I took an online quiz and got “Orangutan.” Oddly enough, the description as to why was on point.
2. If you were a Superhero, what would your super power be?
Super speed. I could travel to other states and countries quickly and most importantly, be on time for gym class.
3. What is your favorite treat meal?
Meal or meals? Don’t limit me to just one because My top treats are burgers, practically any type of pie, Indian and Thai. 🍔🥧
