1. When and Why did you first start coming to Coastal Strength & Fitness?
I have tried Nutri-System, Weight Watchers, curves, the YMCA, even the weight loss pill Ali, with no real success.
During our family reunion in 2015, my daughter, Loni-Marie and I had a discussion on how fit she was and I asked for details about Coastal. She encouraged me to do the one month trial. A family member stated that I should just accept that I was too old to lose weight. That was all I needed to hear. I emailed Gary before we even got home.
I joined Coastal on July 28, 2015, 11 days before my 60th birthday.
2. What fitness activities/sports were you doing before you joined Coastal?
I joined Curves, used our home treadmill and bike, the Wii and workout DVD’s and walked over the years. I haven't done any sports since high school.
3. What results have you seen since you joined Coastal Strength & Fitness?
Since joining Coastal I have gone down two clothes sizes and a loss of 19.25 inches.
Before joining Coastal, I had poor posture, I was weak, and I couldn't life more than 25 lbs.
I can now do so many exercises with great form, my balance is much better, and I can now deadlift 180lbs.
I have muscles where I had flab, my stamina has greatly improved, and I even learned how to sprint. I feel so much better about myself.
I like what I see in the mirror now. My confidence and self esteem are far better because of my accomplishments.
4. What do you like most about Coastal Strength & Fitness?
Coastal Strength & Fitness is addictive. I love coming to my 7:30 class and that I don't have to plan my routine, it is there for me.
Our coaches make sure I have the right form and use the correct weight for me along with my fellow Coasties there to encourage and cheer each other on for every success.
5. What is your favorite Coastal training day of the week and why?
I don't have a favorite day really. I love all of them because I get to work on different areas of my body including my stamina. It is great that we track our progress and I see in print how I have improved. If I had to choose I would go with Saturdays. Saturday Smackdown because of the challenges and support and then ending my week with yoga. I can now touch my toes and my balance is greatly improved.

1. What is your Spirit animal?
I would have to say the butterfly. Before the butterfly emerges from its cocoon it has to work really hard. When I joined Coastal Strength & Fitness I was in a not so pretty cocoon and now with my hard work I am becoming a magnificent butterfly.
2. If you were a Superhero, what would your super power be?
The ability to make the world the peaceful world God originally intended. Rid the world of all evil.
3. What is your favorite cheat meal?
Any meal that includes French fries. They are my true weakness.
