Sauteed Sea Scallops. Say that 5 times fast.
One of the biggest objections to cooking is that it can be too difficult and time consuming. I agree with this and am not a fan of typical cookbooks and long ingredient lists. Buying a bunch of random ingredients you use once is not cheap, efficient, or condusive to a sustainable healthy life style.
To combat this I introduce the easiest, tastiest meal you can make that is great for a quick Tuesday night dinner or can be used on a Friday night to impress a date.
What you need:
• 1 pound wild caught sea scallops ( I prefer the frozen ones from Trader Joes)
• 1-2 tbsp kerrygold butter or coconut oil
• Sea salt
• Garlic powder
1. Make sure your sea scallops are defrosted and pat dry with a paper towel. Get a cast iron skillet or pan pre heated on medium-high heat. While that is heating up season both sides of the scallops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
2. Throw your butter or coconut oil in the pan and let it heat up for a few seconds.
3. Place sea scallops in the pan and sear for 2-3 minutes
4. Flip and cook the other side for 2-3 minutes
5. Serve over rice or with some potatoes.
